Also rather pallid was the show of German Renaissance art , STRANGE BEAUTY, at the National Gallery. The reviews had been poorish, and it's definitely a bit of a rip-off, as you can usually see nearly everything on show elsewhere in The Gallery for free. I wanted to see for myself, though, and it distracted me momentarily from my excruciating depression. On the whole, though, I wouldn't bother. There's a little room at the end set up for people's comments, which are mostly pretty dull as well. I was touched by one poignant little note that said "I am pig ugly. Cranach would have loved me."
Outside, someone dressed as Yoda was 'levitating' rather convincingly. I couldn't figure it out, anyway.
