Mooched around Clapham Junction for a bit. Not interesting.
Watched a rather good DVD, though, THE KILLER INSIDE ME. Casey Affleck was way creepy as soft-spoken psycho 'Lou', and the 50's-noir surroundings were great. It's a really terrific-looking film. The violence is yes, nasty, but that's the way violence is. I find showing it as bone-crunchingly ugly is probably less 'corrupting' or whatever, than the usual action film's sanitzed obliteration of characters you don't care about. I've seen worse, anyway, although the review I read by this woman who had to leave the screening until the lengthy (?) scene was over, had made me expect to be totally freaked out.
It did annoy me, though, that the female victims were ridiculously passive, making no attempt whatever to fight or flee.
I was also a bit peeved by the vagueness of the references to Lou's early life, and the tragedy in his family. That made me want to read the book and find out more, though. All in all, a good one.
