"You Don't Need To Be Jewish..."

Passing Parliament Square,Thursday,  I was so apalled by the sight of the lawn  fenced off, and a cop posted every six feet or so, with a tiny group of protesters confined to a post outside that I had a full-blown panic attack. Luckily, I don't think I had any visible manifestation, like fainting or retching etc. but gods help us, this country is going so wrong.
The poor dog that Peppi donated blood for has died, too. Bugger.
I watched THE GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL, which I hadn't particularly fancied, but found it quite charming, touching even.
The BBC4 Saturday thriller waTHE CODE from Australia, which started off rather interesting, but ended up pretty conventional and silly.
My 'artist date' this week was a visit to the current exhibit at Space Station 65 on Kennigton Road, featuring 'confessional comics by Jewish women.' It was excellent. Most of it was original artwork (It's always nice to see your betters' splodges, mis-spellings, coffeemug rings, whiteout use,and whatnot). Artists included Aline Kominsky-Crumb, Corrine Pearlman, Diane Noomin, and some I hadn't heard of, but was glad to encounter. It's on into November, and well worth checking out
Yesterday, I went to the second ( didn't know about the first-) of their two related free  workshops, this one led by Hannah Berry. Only four peeps showed up, which was too bad, but nice, in a way, as it was all really laid back. It was very enjoyable. I resolved yet again to go to the LAYDEEZ DO COMICS meeting  at Foyles on Monday. I've been saying that for years. We'll see...
