More 'Tsuris'...

I've been lying very low, washing my sore mouth out with salt water, and watching DVDs . PAN'S LABYRINTH was excellent, as expected, and V FOR VENDETTA was actually much better than I anticipated. Of course, it's been so long since I read it, I don't remember it very well, and I'm sure it's been considerably mucked around with, to incur Mr. Moore's wrath, but as a film, it was OK, even with Natalie Portman involved.
I rang my friend H to see if she wanted to come to the ashes-scattering tomorrow. I've not heard from her in weeks, and as it turned out, I rang in the middle of her suddenly-dead mother's wake! Angels and ministers of grace defend us...How very glum everything is these days. The old lady was 82, but had always been very spry and sharp. We all thought she'd make 100 easily. Alas...
