Surreal 'Whirlybird' Moment...

Early yesterday evening, as I sat gawping in mindless pleasure at PIRATES OF THE CARRIBEAN (total kid stuff, but none the less fun for that-) I became aware of a 'train' downstairs, that seemed to be taking an awfully long time to pass by, and getting louder and louder. I peered out the window just in time to see a helicopter landing on the lawn! Evidently there was an accident on the other side of the arches, where they couldn't bring it down. Very strange.... It happened once before, when I was actually sitting drawing at the 'kitchen' table, when I pulled back the blinds, it was right outside the bloody window and a guy waved at me. (They were shooting THE BILL around the estate, as they often used to do.)

Got a programme for ComICA. Wow! there's almost too much going on; really interesting talks, etc. and quite a lot of the stuff is free. I just hope it doesn't get too damn hot.

I've had about £25 worth of 'free' DVD rental in my promotional month. I can't afford to carry on and join properly,  of course, but  for any  film freaks who have normal incomes,£14.99 a month is pretty reasonable value. You make a 'wants' list, and they start you off with 3, replacing them with new ones as you watch and return. They seem quite reasonable and helpful, and there's a fair old selection (but where are all the German fillums?-). Check 'em out.
