Cruddy CATS, Etc...

Raining and grim, but no snow, dammit; not in South London, anyway...
Got a note through the door from the council about lockdown rules. It say that the outdoor gyms and ball courts are shut again, but I've seen kids playing basketball, and while there are 'Do Not Use' signs on the gym equipment, they're left over from the first lockdown. I'll just carry on (when I do venture down there) until told otherwise.
Watched another outstandingly bad film, which I've been wanting to check out for ages, CATS (2019). It really is dire, managing to be creepy as hell and boring at the same time. I'm not a great fan of the score, either. I like some of Andrew Lloyd Webber's shows, but this isn't one.
It seems very strange that since a lot of money has been spent, they didn't bother to make the scale more consistent and convincing. The partly CGId cat people are unsettlingly Uncanny Valley-ish. There's a certain obscenity about those incessantly twitching tails, too. Rebel Wilson, especially, seems to be using hers as a sex toy on several occasions, and Idris Elba is pretty alarming, when he sheds his sleazy hat and mac; more like a werewolf than anything else, and, of course, the tom cats have all had their boy bits digitally erased, which looks pretty weird. So, it's quite as bad as they say, only not in an entertaining way, alas. I expected to have more fun mocking it. Oh yes, and James Corden is in it, always a very bad sign.
