On the way back, a fucking teenager riding a scooter on the pavement shot round a corner, and, seriously, missed me by about two inches. Then, two blokes carrying ladders soundlessly came up behind me and edged me and my cripstick out of the way. At least one of them said 'Excuse me'...Tell me again how the pandemic has made everyone more kind and caring...
Seems I've completely scrambled up the iPad and my phone. I just can't understand, and the more I fiddle about, the more frighteningly fubard they get.
(More trembly thoughts of dementia...I was a pitiful technophobe even in youth, though.)
Started watching QUEEN'S GAMBIT on Netflix; Quite interesting, so far, and lovely to look at, with a nice hallucinatory element, at times.
I used to play chess as a kid, in a very primitive way. Another kid taught me the moves, and we knew nothing of fancy strategy, etc. but it was a lot of fun.
Finished the current season of THE CROWN, which has been a particularly juicy guilty pleasure, this time. The prospect of a highly fictionalised dramatisation of the decline, death and funeral of Diana seems quite weird, though. It seems so recent.
I've never been a great Tracy Emin fan, although I find her work OK-ish, but I've been warming to her lately, especially since her recent brush with the Reaper. She's been saying some quite interesting and ympathetic things. I also really fancy seeing the current RA exhibit of her stuff and Edvard Munch's. There are some pictures of his I've never seen before. I hate the thought of attending shows in the current pre-booked , masked, regimented way, though.
I'll have a new one, please...
