I've never been especially into Basquiat, but that documentary on BBC2 last week really got to me. He was only 27, I think, when he OD, and already a big artistic name. What directions would he have taken if he'd lived? * Sigh *
The TV, thank the gods, seems to be going again, after I faffed around with it a bit. I've no idea what I've done, but it seems to have been the right thing, touch wood.
R next Door isn't exactly 'not speaking', but obviously wants to be left alone.
My back is still hurting a lot, but maybe just a little less, thanks to too many painkillers.

A surprising number of young celebrities have met untimely deaths at the age of 27: Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison, and Amy Winehouse to name a few. (Basquiat is on this list; there are several other articles on the web about this exclusive "club," but I thought the Rolling Stone list was pretty good.)

This has led people to speculate on the reason for the trend—if there's a reason to such madness, and the growing group of 27-year-olds has been dubbed the "27 club".

Yes, I've read about that. Coincidence, I suppose, but quite woowoo.
