I never went to see the West End lights and windows this year. I always do, although they're seldom interesting. Same with the dreary market along the South Bank. I usually go to see if it's got any less depressing. (It never has-) This year, I just had other stuff going on, like the eternal cough, going to Venice, etc, and couldn't be arsed.
Speaking of Venice, I must see that film PEGGY GUGGENHEIM: ART ADDICT. I was much more intrigued by her villa and art collection than I expected to be. There were quite a few pieces by well-known artists that I hadn't seen before, especially the exceedingly strange OINK https://wnherbert.wordpress.com/2015/10/03/carry-on-leonora-2/ which I kept going back to. It's still haunting me. I went in by the sculpture garden entrance, but while doing the galleries, I looked out a window, and saw people coming in another way, past this :
Every one grinned broadly as they moved by. He definitely is quite jolly, and also stars on a T-shirt in the shop, which I resisted buying. The whole place is full of pleasant surprises
