A lady rang from the cat shelter and sounded a bit doubtful about my age for adopting a young adult cat. Someone has to visit to check the flat out, and it's such a dump, they'll probably refuse me. Well, we'll see. Needless to say, R Next Door also thinks that it's cruel for an 'old age woman' to adopt a young cat...
THE LAST KINGDOM is OK, but not really thrilling me. I have been impressed, though, that the two main female characters look like normal people. Not only are they without makeup, but their features lack that slick, operated-on showbiz look, making them appear almost weird, for a TV series.
I've started bingeing on AMERICAN HORROR STORY: FREAKSHOW, which is thoroughly twisted, and the best since ASYLUM. Jessica Lange and Kathy Bates are having a fine old time, camping it up beyond belief.
I continue grievously depressed and incapable, but I'm going to drag myself out soon, to see the ENO rehearsal, THE FORCE OF DESTINY, another of those once- popular operas that doesn't seem to be put on much these days. It's long and demented, like TROVATORE, but has some great moments, and I've always liked it.
