So humid, it's got to the everything-stinks stage. Fortunately, R came early enough for me to catch Martina Navratalova on DESERT ISLAND DISCS after working out; very interesting. She burst into tears at one point, talking about her family.
Long, LONG ago, when she first became famous, I was in the Hard Rock Cafe,Covent Garden, when a woman came up to me, and said  'Ohhh, I thought you were that Czech tennis player!' (Martina must have been in her chub phase-) I always remember that as being one of the most bizarre things anyone's ever said to me. There are few people I look less like, at any weight... At least the pissing tennis finishes today. (Hope dreary Andy Murray wins, for all the people who are unaccountably into it, but I Just Don't Care, myself.)
I was soooo pissed off last night, when they announced that HENRY !V, Part I  was cancelled for the doubles matches...Then BBC1 said to hold on, they were showing it there, but no, it had already started an hour late on 2... *&^%#!!  Bah.( It's on at nine tonight on BBC4, for those who missed out, anyway.) It was a bit of a letdown after the strikingly original RICHARD II last week. Still very good, with a great cast, just a much more conventional approach.
