An overcast ,rather blowy day- fine by me, and not rough enough to put normal people off. I trundled my trolley to Dean Street to have a look at the Queer Chub Harvest Festival. It  was a pretty small venue, and already quite packed when I got there. I briefly encountered charlottecooper  knackered, but glowing with with pride and pleasure, as she might well be. The crowd was a nice cross-section of sizes, ages, fleshtones and sexual inclinations, and everyone seemed to be having a very jolly time. I got some good zines, and  bought a jar of Ka'y's intriguing-looking raspberry/pear jam, but seem to have bloody forgotten it. Typical! I was glad to donate to such a cool cause, though.
I also had a mortifying go on Simon's frightening contraption, which reminded me of those BIG BROTHER tasks where you get electrocuted. Squeal.
The vegetable monsters were pretty unnerving, too. There was generally a lot of very nice-looking food about.  jasonelvisand consort were in the courtyard displaying an extremely handsome cake specimen... I rather think, though, that the prize probably went to the incredibly cartoonish creation, with all the drippy icing and pink-and-whiteness. For sheer campness it had to score.
I was thrilled to be given a free DIVA mag and fab little shopping bag. I was kind of expecting lectures and/or workshops, but didn't see anything, or indeed any space for such. I celeb-spotted De La Grace Volcano, though.
My visit was brief, as it really was crowded and loud for me, but it looked like it was heading for  triumph, and may be the first of many Fat of the Lands to come. Well done, all.

Sounds good, but to be honest, I'm utterly distracted by that icon!

Ya know, I can't remember where I bagged it. I keep thinking it's a Raoul Dufy, although it doesn't look much like one.
